-Far north cluster of businesses and retailers including L&L Food Center, Arby's, Little Caesar's Pizza, Flapjack Shack, etc. -- Cedar Street/East Avenue is nearly continuous strips of retailers and restaurants from DeWitt to Holt.SPECIAL POINTS OF INTEREST -- Many of the smaller towns and villages of the area have unique downtowns with clusters of specialty businesses, including DeWitt, Haslett, Okemos, Mason, Holt, Dimondale, Potterville and Grand Ledge. Lake Lansing at Haslett has a fine beach & picnic area on the east side and boat launch area as well as picnic areas, nature trails and ball diamonds on the north side. Ferguson Park on the Red Cedar River at Okemos has picnic grounds, duck feeding opportunities and access to the river for canoes. The Ledges (accessible from Fitzgerald Park) and Island Park at Grand Ledge are popular attractions. The dam at Dimondale is a prime fishing site.

Okemos - Meridian Township Detail Map
Meridian Christian Church
Meets in the Chippewa Middle School. The church is midway between Grand River Avenue, the original Detroit to Grand Rapids highway, and Interstate - 96 (Exit 110).The Grand River Avenue corridor is a major commercial district at Okemos as well as in East Lansing and the Old Town area of Lansing. The Jolly and Okemos Road area adjacent to Exit 110, has recently seen an explosion of new businesses. Meridian Mall (12) - www.meridianmall.com - dominates the north side of Okemos.
Williamston, with an antique and collectibles theme downtown, is only a few miles to the east on Grand River Avenue. East Lansing and the Michigan State University campus are just off the map to the west. The Lansing-South area is only a few miles west on Jolly Road. Mt. Hope Road is a popular connector between Okemos and Lansing.
Ferguson Park on the Red Cedar River at Okemos Road, provides access for car-top boats, including canoes and kayaks. The Red Cedar is a popular canoeing river from Williamston to downtown Lansing. Additional launch sites are at Williamston, Meridian Road, Potter Park and Riverfront Park (downstream of Red Cedar and Grand River confluence).
Lake Lansing, just off the map to the north on Marsh Road, has a three-part county park system. The "South" unit on Marsh Road has a swimming beach, picnic area, playground and concession-bathhouse facility. The "North" units have a boat launch on the lake, with extensive picnicking, ball fields and nature trails across the road.
Fun Tyme Adventure Parks (47), a commercial establishment, offers both indoor and outdoor activities, including miniature golf and go-karts, depending on the season.
